My Street Photography

why street photography is so important to me…

The act of street photography is to capture, express and convey the photographer’s view, interpretations and feelings of scenes and actions through still imagery.

My purest intentions when photographing street scenes is to firstly make an audience feel a sense of awe and excitement when they see my images. I then wish and aim for this to go further. Applying a theory that Josh K. Jack uses in his work, called “the curiosity gap”, I feature parts and specific details of subjects and scenes. This therefore leaves my audiences with their own interpretations, inferences and impressions of not only my imagery, but the subject in question.

This candid and thoughtful form of composition is something that not only captures the feeling of the scene, but does so in a manner that is relative and representative to whomever may study it.
